Good Value and Durable!

Yes, the cover is heavy, but it is well constructed and I wanted some 'heft' to add to my lightweight organic duvet. It will be perfect for cooler months. Heavy and a bit on the stiff side is the nature of the beast when purchasing organic allergy encasings. I placed a super soft organic duvet cover over the allergy protector (perfect fit) and that helped substantially. I may add another cover for extra plushness. I do recommend this encasing, but only if you use a soft cover over the encasing - as it is designed.

I purchased this after lengthy research, wanting something truly organic and made in USA to protect our new latex mattress. The quality is quite good, and it is well constructed. However, it is like sleeping on a plastic tarp! It is so loud and stiff under our sheets. It has changed the comfort of our soft latex mattress completely. It must be the tight weave of the cotton? I have been using it for a week thinking it will "soften" and it's the same as it was the first night. Loud, stiff, and creaky as if you were moving around on a canvas cot or rubber sheets. I am sad. Spent a lot of money on it. Not sure I can keep sleeping on it.

Being sensitive to chemicals and wanting to protect my new queen "ultra" down comforter purchased here at TCS, I also purchased this rather expensive organic protective cover. I would NOT purchase this cover again knowing what I know now. This protective cover is made of tightly woven cotton that is extremely heavy, thick and very stiff. Also, though this cover is the same size as my down comforter, it is too large resulting in mounds of extra material. The combination of all these characteristics makes for a beast of a protection cover that is extremely annoying. With all four corners tied in place I still find myself waking up to stiff material minus my soft down comforter around my upper body. Making the bed is also a real challenge for I am constantly having to adjust the duvet within the cover and hide the all the extra material the best I can. Like another reviewer posted, the thickness and stiffness of the cotton results in a very noisy comforter while moving about in bed which is reason enough not to buy. I carefully choose an extra warm down comforter for sleeping in a cold room (50 degrees) but, I never accounted for a protection cover that was this heavy, thus adding to the warmth factor. I find myself waking up often from overheating. How can I possibly insert my comforter in a pretty decorative duvet cover with this beast of a protection cover already in place? It would be a nightmare trying to find a way to smooth out all the thick mounds of extra material underneath a duvet cover. So far, I've resorted to using this protective cover as the main duvet cover and have put up with the unsightly zipper running up one side. I'll most likely try to return this or discard for a lighter weight protector that fits my down comforter properly with the addition of a proper decorative duvet cover made with a thinner beathable 400-600 ct cotton. Only then can I fully enjoy the soft, warm, light weight down comforter I purchased from this site. I do NOT recommend this protection cover.
