Looked long and hard for a coverlet that would fit our bed. This one seemed to have plenty of width and length and I was willing to pay for it. Well just washed it according to washing instructions and what a HUGE disappointment. It shrunk a good 8 inches in each direction. It went from over-sized to barely fits. Be wary.

I noticed the only other review was of the bedspread, but put under "coverlet." I am assuming the material is the same, however. I LOVE this coverlet. It is a great weight, yarn dyed, and will outlast my lifetime by many years because the stitching and quality is so good!
I HAVE washed my coverlet and found no shrinkage and no loss of color. I was surprised to see the other review because I was back on-line to order another color because I adore my blue one soooooooo much!
Maybe my dryer didn't heat up as much as the other reviewer's or something. THIS IS AN OVER-SIZED coverlet and it fits my VERY, VERY deep mattress when other coverlets run either too short or not wide enough.
If you get this, I don't think you would ever regret it and I am going ahead with my purchase of the citrine colored one.

I bought this bedspread, and really liked its looks. I washed it for the first time, and to my horror, it shrank probably 15%. I followed the washing directions--cold water, and dried it on extra low for a while before switching to low. So instead of a bedspread, I have a coverlet. I am very disappointed in it.
