This product came in very fast and in good condition. I thought for the price, the overall quality was very good. My bookcases came in as shown with the stacked affect. The hutch did sit higher than the bookcases on either side. Perfect for my girls new playroom. I would recommend this product. Love it!

I was a little nervous to order such a BIG piece over the internet without seeing it first, but I am VERY glad that I did. I had been searching for something with clean lines, and not a lot of frill for my boys' bedroom... and this piece was perfect. The other benefit is that you can combine the pieces however you choose. I was looking for something that would have 2 desks with it... and after I saw this piece (and checked the dimensions), I combined it with 2 desks (on either side), 1 media stand (which we placed in the middle) and 3 hutches. It doesn't have quite the "stair stepped" look at the top as the picture, but the media stand with hutch came out about 1" higher that the desk with hutch on either side. The top of the unit (top of the hutch) does have about a 1.5" recess (which the other review notes as a negative) however, for us this was a relief, because it allows you to put items on top of the unit, without them falling off easily. The molding at the top of the hutch really gives it the appearance of a formal furniture piece. I would suggest to Company Kids that they need to offer a plastic white circular cover to cover up the CAM holes (from assembly)... but it's not that big of a deal, because you can purchase them from just about any hardware/furniture store. Overall, this was an excellent purchase, and I am VERY satisfied!

I ordered the 5-cubby hutch as a stand-alone bookshelf/cubby for my daughters' bedroom. The packaging was very messy and sloppy - PBK does a much better job of packing their bookcases. The paint on one of the beadboard pieces was poorly done, and the top piece had actual cracks and it is visible where the composite boards are glued together. It wasn't worth the trouble to request a replacement, because I don't think I could get this one back in the box. It wasn't hard to put together, but a nice, cheap, simple touch would be if Company Kids would inclue white caps to cover up the cam locks that are exposed and clearly visible. This makes it look cheap, but since it's not solid wood, it's about what I'd expect. The pics on the website also don't give a clear view of the top of this piece - it is cut out in the middle - it's not a flat top. Would have been good to know that...
