I love the vibrant colors and the pattern of this rug. It's 100% cotton, made in India. I was a bit worried about the colors bleeding or fading when I washed it. No problem there! However, it shed a lot (probably to be expected) and the fuzzy side is not attractive now. Somehow some of the yarn tufts are now much longer than they were, and they encroach into other colors. This is especially prevalent with the white into the other colors. It makes the rug look ragged. It happened on the looped side also, just not to the same degree. It was a gorgeous rug, now not so much.

Bought this as well as the Calypso striped shower curtain to accent my teens' recently repainted bathroom. Was unhappy with shower curtain (colors duller than expected) so I'm returning that but hanging on to this even though I thought the colors would be more vibrant. It's very soft and thick, it should be heavy enough not to slip (however for parents of young children, be advised that one side is looped and the other fuzzy - no non-skid backing). Kind of pricey for a bath mat but I used a promotion from Martha Stewart Living and the kids like it.
