Stinky, Sheds, Snags Easily!

So disappointed in this rug! We've had it several months and it STILL stinks. A treated smell of some sort. We had it outside for the first few days, but the smell lingers. Makes us sneeze. The whole reason I ordered this rug was to avoid chemically treated fabrics :( Sheds ALL over the place. We have hardwood floors and the little fibers are everywhere at the end of the day. We're using it under a round table in the entryway. We bought the 6' round in the natural color. We have cats and the rug snags very easily with their nails since there are very visible, wide loops. What a bummer!

So far, so good

Have only had it for a day so my review may not be as useful as if I had had it for a month or two, but since there are no other reviews thought I would post this in case there's anyone out there wondering about it, as I was a few months ago.
So far, so good. My biggest fear was that the color (Natural) wouldn't be as it appeared in catalog. But it is, to me, a true natural and looks like what was in catalog and online. Was also worried about quality and possible odors. Quality looks good -- nothing coming loose (and it looks like it's reversible, so that's good too). No horrible chemical smells (like many products from China), just faint smell of any natural fiber rug. Appears to have been made in India.
Because it appears to be reversible, probably a good idea to have a rug pad. I didn't get the one at Company Store, can't remember why (maybe out of stock) so I bought one locally for about same amount -- has a sort of latex side, that goes on floor and a sort of smooth natural side, which I hope will protect the reverse side of this jute rug so I can use it later if necessary.
Only regret is this doesn't come in 9 x 12, which probably would have looked better and was old rug's size, but the 8 x 10 does the job and appears to have been a really good value purchased on sale. s
