I love this comforter, cool in summer and warm in winter. Shell is a little crispy sounding to start but that settles down nicely with use. Ordered the robins egg blue and it is true pretty blue color. Thank you - loyal costumer.

The last time I bought down comforters from the Company Store was over 20 years ago when they had an outlet store in a nearby town. The comforters have now been handed down to my daugher and they are still going strong. They never lose their feathers, I love the material, they wash up great, and last forever! I cannot say enough about the quality of the bedding found at the Company Store!

I chose to order from The Company Store because you can pick different "warmths" when ordering a down comforter. Also, my parents and brother have one they bought from The Company Store probably over 10 years ago and they still use theirs. However, I am only giving it 4 stars for two reasons. First, I made the mistake of ordering on a day when I actually had to pay for shipping. Not just a little shipping, but $18.95 for shipping and then waited 11 days for it to get here. I wouldn't complain about the time if it had been free, and the day after I ordered, they offered free shipping. So the cost plus the long wait... left a bad taste in my mouth. I've even waited a few weeks before posting this to see if I felt any different but I don't. The other reason I gave it four stars is that if you want a "soft" outer shell that doesn't make a lot of noise in the middle of the night when you need to move the comforter about (and are trying not to wake your spouse) this isn't the one to get. It makes a crinkling noise when you move it. We got the "warm" level, which I think will be perfect for summer. For the winter we have to add another blanket to keep warm. But you can always add blankets and there's nothing worse than being "too hot." For a year round cost effective down comforter this is a really good option if you don't mind waiting a long time on the shipping and don't mind the noise. I'm still glad we got it. Wish I had been prepared for the shipping issue.

I purchased a down comforter years ago from a high end retailer and had to return it because I was so allergic to it. The feathers kept coming out and flying all around and I couldn't handle it. I love down and so when my friend told me about her comforter from TCS I thought I would give it a try. Love this one! No smell, no allergy and soooo warm. We keep our thermostat very low at night so I got the Extra Warmth one. We use it with the TCS microfleece sheets and are almost too warm at times! As the other review mentioned, the cover does crinkle kind of loud, but I am hoping it gets better with use.

Needed to replace a much loved, worn out down comforter that was luxurious enough to be fit for a king so it got named "The King's Blankie"
Before finding TCS I purchased another down comforter from a high end store for more money and promptly sent it back. It had a strong chemical smell, only came in white and had hardly any down at all. It never fluffed up out of the package and when held up to light you could see a TINY puff of down here and there but almost all the squares were EMPTY!
On a quest to find a blanket worthy of replacing "The King's Blankie" which means it actually had to have us looking forward to snuggling down in bed every night and resist strong urges to stay there all day long!
Stumbled onto TCS through Google search, read wonderful reviews, gave them a try and haven't been displeased at all. Love the lifetime guarantee and the comforter care service too. Customer service rep. was very helpful and friendly.
We absolutely LOVE our comforter! Got the Ultra warmth La Crosse down in coffee. It is wonderful quality and so toasty warm. We can turn our thermostat way down at night to conserve on utilities. This one makes us feel so pampered and snug and secure we've named it "Mama Duck". The cotton cover crinkles rather loudly at first but with use if softens up and becomes quiet. When you tuck your head under the comforter it blocks out all light and deadens sound. I can't stand piles of heavy blankets weighing me down. It is super light weight while still being super warm. We can't wait to crawl under "Mama Duck" every night!
