We have wanted these for awhile but until my daughter grew out of some other toys we just didn't have room. We bought two for along a wall in her playroom. She has a chalkboard, bulletin board, magnetic board unit that we purchased years ago above it. Works out great. for playing school. They use the boards above and keep all their books and school supplies on the shelves below.Keeps the playroom tidy which I like...and everything is easily assessible to the kids and easy to put away.

Each of our kids has one of these bookcases. One child has the horizontal type, and other child has the vertical shape.
Both look beautiful and do not have the self-assembly look.
The materials are also high quality.
The natural colored color is fairly light, and should look great in any room.
One of the bookcases (vertical in this case) is blue. It's the perfect shade of blue (not navy, closer to a brighter blue, yet not really super bright.)
I have recommended this to my friends and family and we may even purchase another bookcase.

We have the horizontal bookcase in white. We order furniture and assemble it ourselves frequently and several times we've received new furniture (from other companies) which was damaged in shipping due to poor packaging. This was probably the best packaging we have ever seen. Each piece was individually wrapped in protective covering and the inside of the box had thick padding. The cardboard box we received had a hole in it from shipping, but there was no damage to the wood at all. And the hardware came in a little zip-lock bag, which is much more convenient than the usual tear-open package.
The bookcase is easy to assemble, but the instructions are poor. No words, just pictures, and several steps are not depicted (like what hardware you use to attach the left side), but you can easily figure it out (same as the right side, which is depicted). It would be nice to have foolproof instructions with steps and warnings like "make sure the grooves line up when attaching shelf C to side B". Also, it uses four 2-inch Allen head screws to attach the bottom of the shelf, but the holes are in a recessed area. You have to use the long end of the provided Allen wrench to reach it, which means you have to turn the short end which does not provide enough torque. I had to use another wrench to grab the Allen wrench so I could screw them all the way in. It would be better to come with 4 Phillips head screws, because you need your own screwdriver anyway for the camlocks. Again, it's relatively easy to assemble, especially if you've assembled similar stuff before and are familiar with camlocks and studs, but it could be improved with better instructions and standard screws.
Finally, the appearance is very good, with the exception of the visible metal hardware by the top shelf mentioned in a previous review. A few included covers would be nice. All the pieces are solid except for the thin back panel, but that is fine as long as you know not to lift the bookcase up by tilting it from the back before the top is on during assembly.
Overall, great bookcase, outstandingly packed for shipping, but assembly and instructions could be improved.

I bought one in pink for under the window in the playroom. Really sweet looking piece. So cute! Sturdy, plenty of storage & a great price. Love it.

I bought these bookshelves for our 2yr old's room. They are perfect for her to reach her things and they coordinate very well with her furniture. Assembly wasn't that difficult and my husband and I are not handy at all. The only thing I don't like is that the metal hardware shows on the inside of the top shelf (you can see it in the photos). It would have been nice if they included a little cover for that but overall the bookshelves are nice and work very well. Good value buy!

The bookcase looks great, but it was really hard to assemble. Directions contained no words, and it seemed like some of the steps were in the wrong sequence. I don't know why I had assumed this would arrive pre-assembled, but it took me almost two hours to put it together.
Looks like it came pre-assembled though, so for that, I guess it's a good value.

These bookcases are absolutely beautiful. I bought four in the pink color, and couldn't be more satisfied. I didn't want anything too fussy or "princessy", just simple, basic design, and that's exactly what I got.
They're quite solid, the finish seems to be almost industrial (meaning it won't chip or scratch easily), and they look amazing. I'm in love with them.
I can honestly say I've never received an inferior product from this company, which is why I felt confident purchasing four of these bookcases in one go. As it turns out, the product exceeded my expectations.
